Dream Book and Director Pairings with Chasing Faerytales // Summer Blog Promo Tour

Welcome back to the 2016 Summer Blogger Promo Tour hosted by Amber and Jessica: The Book Bratz(@thebookbratz)! I will be featuring six ladies on my blog every Sunday during July and August. Likewise, they will be featuring one of us on their blog, everyone will be doing something different- tag, Q&A, or discussing their dream book to movie adaptation, etc. I am super excited to be a part of this tour this year and I am happy to meet such creative and nice people!

This week I will be featuring Mish from Chasing Faerytales. Be sure to follow her blog and her Twitter @chasingfaes ! She also has a line of prints she made at Society6 under the name Ink Stains. Mish has, also, recently started going full force on her bookstagram and it is looking great! She is such a kind, creative, hard-working blogger and her amazing blog is proof of that. She provided a little bio below with social media links to her Goodreads and Instagram as well. Keep coming back during July and August for more SBPT features on my blog!

Take care,
Katie

Hi everyone! It’s so nice to meet all of you! I am Mishma, and today, I am here to present to you my dream movie adaptations, and the directors I’d love to work on them! I am a huge movie buff – I even wanted to study film making at one point – and I’ve always loved book to movie adaptations! Since fancasting for characters is often done in the blogosphere, I wanted to do something different and match up books and directors!
-------------------------------------------

1.     Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern – Baz Luhrmann
Night Circus is hands down one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read. Magical would be one word I would use to describe it! Vividly descriptive and absolutely gorgeous, the essence of this book and its writing can only be captured by Baz Luhrmann. His movies are always a visual treat, and his signature magic over his sets, costumes and art direction would do Night Circus justice! He’s also skilled with book to movie adaptations, with his magical rendition of The Great Gatsby and his gorgeous and intense Moulin Rouge.

2.     The Diviners by Libba Bray – Tim Burton
The Diviners is eccentric, eery, creepy and intense – everything a Tim Burton movie would contain. Tim Burton’s twisted narration and visuals are amazing, and The Diviners being a dark fantasy set in the 1920s, would make a fabulously creepy film in his hand, just like Alice in Wonderland and Sweeney Todd.

3.     Vicious by V.E.Schwab – Christopher Nolan
Vicious is my all time favourite book. I wouldn’t wish the story to be made into a movie by anyone else other than Nolan. Christopher Nolan is a visionary and his imagination is just extraordinary . Vicious is an anthiheroic take on superheroes, and who can execute it better than the director of the darkest Batman trilogy? His tone is gritty, his characters well formed, deep and gray, and it would be a treat to watch Vicious as a film if it is handled by this man.

4.     Nevernight by Jay Kristoff – Quentin Tarantino
I am currently reading Nevernight, and all I can say is that if Pulp Fiction was made into a YA book, Nevernight would be it. Despite being YA, this book doesn’t shy away from violence, sex and explicit language and who else can direct the movie version of this book than Tarentino?

5.     Made You Up by Francesca Zappia – Wes Anderson
Wes Anderson’s movies are quirky, eccentric, deep and his characters never fail to make an impact. Plus, his movies are extremely colourful, and anyone who saw the cover of Made You Up, would know that it’s a perfect match for Anderson. In addition, the moving yet adorable story of Made You Up, would experience a whimsical and brilliant rendition in Anderson’s hands, which I can predict would be spectacular!
